Why I Don’t Believe in “The One True Religion” Anymore
Which Religion is the Right Religion? My Journey to Spiritual Truth
You’ve probably asked yourself at some point, which religion is right? What should I believe? I know I certainly have. Growing up Catholic, it felt natural to accept what I was taught. But as I got older, I realized there were so many religions out there — some with billions of followers, some much older than Christianity, each claiming their own version of truth.
It became a deeply personal and sometimes scary question: How do I know I’m believing the right thing? Because my religion wasn’t just a belief system — it was part of my identity, my family, my whole world.
Questioning Everything
In college, I decided to major in world religions, not just to study, but to really understand what other people believed and why. I talked to people from all backgrounds, from atheists to Mormons, Buddhists, Jews, and more. I even prayed about the Mormon faith because I wanted to know if that might be the right path.
The Answer I Heard from God
What I heard surprised me. It wasn’t a simple yes or no. God told me:
“Any person, religion, or organization that promotes, teaches, and encourages unconditional love is part of the truth.”
That changed everything. It wasn’t about the label or the rules — it was about whether something was teaching and nurturing unconditional love.
What This Means for You
If your religion, or your spiritual path, is helping you become a more loving, forgiving, and grateful person, then you’re on the right path. You don’t have to change a thing.
If you want to explore other paths that might connect better to your heart, that’s okay too. God cares about your growth, your heart’s intention, and your ability to love — not the details or doctrines.
Keep Practicing Unconditional Love
No matter what path you’re on — Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, spiritual but not religious, or none at all — keep practicing unconditional love. That’s what’s real. That’s what’s true.
